|
AIWA Stereo cassette deck, L300, model AD L300 G, age unknown
It appears the main drive belt has lost its elasticity as the deck plays but starts playing like a wound up gramaphone but refuses to FF or rewind tapes.
carefully taking up slack on belt and its all go.
any idea of suppliers for these parts? |

Most electronic suppliers sell belts of different sizes. Carefully remove yours and match it with one of theirs. Find one with the same width but a fraction smaller (yours has stretched)
You may have more than one belt in there too, if the others have not stretched get another of the same size. A belt that is too tight will wear the bearing surfaces out. What condition are the heads and pinchrollers in? Maybe these need replacing too. |
