Mitsu VS-45609

I have a Mitsu VS 45609 manufactured in May 2001. The color Green in the picture started bouncing around until the TV warmed up and then was o.k. It then stopped bouncing around and just formed a shadow constantly on screen, and now is even shutting itself down until warmed up, takes 8-10 attempts to keep tv on, and has the constant shadowing.

Is this a problem that I can fix relatively easily, or do I need a repair person to do it? Money is a concern.
