Hi

Chassis in this set is the 2114 EB5-C available for download from this site.

HT is low, as are the only two voltages which are linked to that winding - the B4- and B4+ voltages. All others are approximately correct. HT (B1) voltage should be 147V in standby and 139V when set is running. It's actually 131V in standby and when set is running. B4+ should be 18.2V but reads 15.5V in standby. B4- should be -17.44V but reads -14.6V in standby. Similarly lower than should be for ON rating when set is running.

Have changed all primary and secondary caps and checked just about every component and redone all joints, even replacing the optocoupler and the SMPS controller IC. The HT adjustment pot is fine, but moving it only alters the HT from lowest 125V to highest 138V. Whatever I alter it to, it remains that voltage in standby and when the set is running, which shouldn't be the case.

The set had been intermittently refusing to start up, and I believe the low voltages to be the cause. The degauss relay would click so microcontroller was trying to start the set as it controls the relay, but the set wouldn't come on. It would later, sometimes days later. Not sure what causes it to be so intermittent, but these voltages must be put right.

Does anyone have any ideas? If necessary, I can supply just the schematic which I have saved as a PDF file on its own.

Many thanks,
James
