TV Panasonic PT51G30T rear projection

I need to know if someone already repaired that model TV because i don`t want to buy expensive chip for nothing. i think it`s the convergence chip that has been zapped because when i try to push the test button on the front panel it doent go in convergence mode like the service manual explain so if any of you can help, let me know!!
