phillips 28pw9616/05 surrond sound

my remote control got caught between the seat cushion and whacked the sound up to max. i quickly turned it off but when i turned it back on the speakers sounded like they had all blown. (sound was audible but very distorted) i changed the sound from dolby pro logic to stereo and it is fine but obviously lacks surond sound. does anyone have any ideas of what is wrong or what i need to replace. distortion on 3d surrond, dolby 3 stereo as well as dolby pro logic but fine on hall and stereo. it is a 28' flat screen crt
