JVC CRT tv... video appears as a horizontal line

JVC AV - 27820 CRT

when the rear RCA video jack is wiggled, the video on the screen compresses down into a line; you can still see movement in this 3mm line. now the tv no longer shows any video, the power light just blinks.

any help is greatly appreciated!

You've lost your vertical sweep. Check the vertical output circuits, especially the vertical output IC or transistor.
