Blasuplunkt CD radio in BMW

Hi can anyone help me get the conector info for a Blauplunkt CD Radio fitted to a 97 BMW 328 Europe pack.

I have a 97 328 convertable with an Alpine unit in it ( Asia pack ) as i am in Australia and want to replace with the Blauplunkt unit with the CD in dash.

When i connect, as is with the standard 16 pin connector already in the car, i get flashing led display and no access to the unit to enter code or operate. i am hoping it is only the pin connections.
