Or more presicley click.
I have a PD4200 Marantz plasma , which has started switching itself off just after I turn it on, approx 5 secs or just after the screen powers up. I have had a brief look at the box whilst it was going through the switch off process and the click is coming from one or both of the relays on the power board. When the screen initially started to do this it went with a reasonably load electricity type bang.
The only other relevant thing is prior to this happening the screen had a slight colour issue whites were slightly pink.
I have spoken with Marantz and their repair team and having discovered the cost of the repair team having a look thought it would be worth a little personal investigation first.
My two best thoughts are A) the display has actually gone completely wrong, although the fact that the screen comes on even briefly would suggest this perhaps is not the case or B) One of the internal power supplies has gone and this is causing the screen to fail into a safe mode.
Does anyone have any ideas? |
