If any one can help me please respond asap.
I have a sharp CD-BA150 compact stereo. I tried to turn it on as usual but the sound was real gravely. So I tried the radio then the tape deck and then back to the cd player. All three sounded gravely. It only played for about one minute then it shut down and a protect sign came up. If I unplug it for a day or so the hello sign comes back on but as soon as I try to play the system it goes back to protect and I can do nothing more.
I've looked for a reset button but I have'nt found one.
Help anyone.

Hi there,

Your stereo is kicking itself into a Protection mode. This usually happens when 1 or more of the following happened:

1. Shorted outputs - your speakers or speaker cables maybe shorted. Try removing the speaker cables & power up the stereo. See if it works.

2. Over-current - you may have connected more than 1 speaker in parallel. This would result in excessive current drawn from your amp. therefore your amp will kick itself into protect mode.

3. Shorted power amplifer (internal) - time to send it for service

#1 or 2 will be easy to solve. #3 maybe costly.

Good luck! Smile

Thanks sounds like good advice. I think it's time for a new one, because I've already tried #1 and #2 Crying or Very sad
