IN THE UK THAT PART IS £135+VAT TRADE FROM PHILIPS DIRECT. A NEW RECORDER IS LESS THAN THAT RETAIL.

so, I have to forget about this DVD and buy a new one.. it'll be a Panasonic DVD recorder this time.
