PHILIPS DVDR 980 DISPLAYING A CODE CAN ANYONE HELP

My philips dvdr 980 has been working fine the last time i used it when i went to use it yesterday it had the code AFFCF2F displayed and will not do anything at all as if it was locked can any one help thanks.

I'm not in UK, but can tell you that any ABxx/ AFxxx/ACxx.. etc codes displayed on philips dvd recorders in general , are related to internal crash of the machine. You may be able to unplug & plug the set back in & it MAY start working again. My experience has been that majority of the time, fault is in the digital signal process PCB & on rare occasion the mechanism itself.

Either way, cheaper to replace that repair in today's market.
