i have made a simple clock with some 4026's (decade counter with 7 segment output) connected to some 7 segment displays. i was originally using a 555 for the clock input but this wasn't very accurate so now i have pinched a quarts oscillator out of a clock so that the pulses should be exactly one second. the quartz oscillator was sending out one pulse one way then waiting one second then sending out one pulse another way, i fixed this with a rectifier, but now the thing is sending out two pulses waiting a second then sending another two pulses and so on, has anyone got a simple circuit that halves the frequency of pulses or does anyone know how else i could fix this? |

Just use a simple flip flop circuit for divide by 2. |
