sharp tv/vcr combo 20 20vt=g100 inch password reset

i have a sharp i got from someone and has been in storage a year or so, when it comes on it has a secret password in place u have to pick a 4 digit code to make the tv do anything it just stays on this blue screen and when u pick wrong 4 didgit password it shuts off or after 20 seconds or so it shuts off....sharp told me to reset it the universal way for sharps like this is to hold the channel up and volume up together at same time...not from the remote tho only from the base itself which i have done numerous times it wouldnt reset so they said i had to take it to a tv serviceman prolly to reset it on the circuit board...i have the tv semi open and have hit the set up button doesnt work have unplugged all the power plugs inside the tv and then plugged em back...nothing has changed everything is the same still the blue screen wanting the password any help would be appreciated the sharp guy told me this is 95 tv and one of the first with vship....i really didnt know if it was vchip or not anyone have a manual on this tv/vcr combo or any help with getting around this secret password bullshit ?
