Hitachi ultravision 51S500 white screen then shuts off

I have a Hitachi ultravision 51S500. When first turned on a solid white screen sometimes appears. After several seconds the tv turns off. Sometimes when first turning on a green flickering screen appears which doesn't shut the tv off but after awhile it stops flickering and turns solid white and shuts off. Sometimes it turns on and is fine or if I keep turning the tv on after it shuts off it will work. Its almost like it needs to warm up. Everything else with the tv is fine.
