Yamaha RX-V450 Does not start

I was listening to loud music and it suddenly went off, i read the manual which said it will start after one hour after cooling down, but it does not. I tried unplugging and plugging it back but to no avail, i am out of ideas, pls suggest......

P.S. - when I press the Standby/On button on the unit it gives that tick sound that it does every time but doesn't switch on. I have my subwoofer power connected into the rear of the units power outlet, on the sub-woofer the power light turns on for a second and goes off.
