Going to jump on the bandwagon here. I have the same Blue warping at the top of my screen.

I've found the STK392-040's in the back of my set. I'm not too hot with electrics myself, but not scared of the soldering iron. How would I check to make sure this is the problem and not something else?

I havent checked the resistors around them yet, but I'll get on my hands and knee's and check them.

Has anyone replaced these STK392-040's with success?

Where's the best place to order these things?

Forgot to mention... My menu is whizzing around the screen vertically, but I think this may have been something I messed with in the Service Menu (1,8,3) in the attepmt to fix it.

Can I stabilise the menu easily by resetting the defaults somehow?

Ton's. Make sure you have a signal into the tv, or it can look like you lost sync.

In serious need or resetting to the defaults for this TV, if possible.

Does anyone know how to reset the service mode in order to stop my menu from rotating at 100mph vertically around the screen?

Perhaps an eeprom reset or a way to wipe it completely?

Thanks for your reply Minnie, but how do you mean "Put a source into it"?

I've plugged my Sky box into it, but that doesnt change anything. I'll try my antenna ariel this morning if that makes a difference.

Admittedly, the menu rotating is probably my fault. I did change settings in the service menu in order to try to fix the convergence problem and clearly changed the wrong setting.

After plenty of sodding about and trying to correct this. I got my meny back! Wahoo!

All that needs to be done is put my new STK392-040's in... Here's hoping. I'll keep you all posted with my progress.

They've been ordered (Hope they the right ones!) and despatched!

From Here

As soon as they arrive I'm busting out the soldering iron!

If you want to know what the problem is (incase anyone has a problem with it in the future) it was in the service menu, Mute 1, 8, 3, On.

Then in Deflection > Video Adjust1 > VSO

My setting was correct @ value 8

Not even sure what VSO stands for. I imagine Vrtical Shift OSD?

OK. Convergence chips changed! Works a lot better than it did! No dipping Blue! YAY!

But, cannot get the Convergence to align correctly. It has a 'Perfect Focus' fundtion, but everytime I try to do it, it says 'No Sensor Data'.

Do I need to set this somehow? What should I do to improve the picture on my TV?

Getting a tad frustrated. Sad
Help would be more than hugely appreciated. Gonna search the forum now for any answers. Smile
