Ouch! That hurts!

I've just tried to resort out the convergence. I realised, the grid was over hanging to the left hand side on the blue, red & green. I moved them all over to the right to get the edge in view, then moved green and red's line to the left til it got to the edge, which worked fine.

Tried to do the same with blue and blue 'fizzled' then re-appeared with the dreaded saggy dip again! This time, it wont move at all. Sad

Oh dear. New IC's again I think. Any idea's as to the cause? I checked the boards when replacing them last time and nothing seemed 'burnt' or black. It seems like it's a fault that's been missed.

Back to gutted again! Reckon I'll change them again, but will forget the perfect focus function.

Wish I'd left it alone now... The powers of Hindsight. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Check .47 ohm resistor RF801S. 1 watt. See if it's changed in value. If all the yolk return resistors are reading about 2.2 ohms, there 3.3 but in parallel, suspect new and defective STK392-040. It adjusts so I'm not suspecting the digital convergence unit. If it is, I have a spare on the truck.

Damn it, so close. If I'd have to guess, you got a shit ass IC.

Read the post from start to finish. You have the same problem outlined in this post.

Sad

Changed the IC's in this one once again. But still the same issue.
Red & Green move just fine... Blue is not responding to anything now.

Is this the answer to the question?

'It adjusts so I'm not suspecting the digital convergence unit'.

Starting to pull my hair out. I know I might sound like a newbie, but all the ohm talk and measuring etc, shot straight over my head. I can see that none of the resistors look burnt out, but thinking this is going to be a long job now. Sad

I wish I just left it as it was. It was pretty great until I tried to fix teh perfect focus thing.

This is not anywhere on the convergence board. Is it located elsewhere? IE - Power Supply unit? Smile

Left top of the convergence board. Also check FD101 and FD102.

I checked the top left.

I have RFZ50, RFZ53, RZ133, CZ126 & R857 in the top left. Like said, no obvious signs of burning.

Found FD101S (or 5 too small to read) but the numbers you mentioned not found anywhere on the board. (Unless we are talking about different boards (The STK392-040's are soldered to this.

When in convergence Mode on the TV though. When pressing for the presets (1,2 & 3). R & G are changing, blue stays the same.

Getting to the point where this may end up down the tip. Sad
I'm gutted I cant get it sorted now.
