1992 BMW

Hello all. I have caused my 1992 BMW radio te reset. I have nothing in the cars manuals that identifies the code required to reset it nor do I have the radio out and do not particularly care to take it out. Can the radio be reset without taking it out and if so how do I get the code? Also I have been told with the cars VIN number it is possible to get the code- True or false. Thanks in advance. Robert

The dealer can tell you the code based on the car's VIN, as long as it's the exact same unit that came in the car when new.
