On the back of a freeview box I have it has a label saying:-
"After Switch off wait serveral seconds before switching the unit back on"
What is the purpose for doing this from an electronics point of view?
Why do you need to do it, what happens if you give it 1 sec as opposed to 5-10 seconds ?" |

In general, it has to do with all the internal resets/handshakes & various
communication between processor circuits. There is always a ceratin amount of delay involved which depends on circuit design &/or complexity.
Main purpose is to prevent any possible misoperation/lockups due to interference during power down operation--- tends to vary with different devices & waiting any longer than suggested has no effect. |
