Goodmans GDVDR 305 DVBT problem

I am writing for help with an item i bought . I purchased a Goodmans GDVDR 305 DVBT with freeview inbuilt about 1 year ago. After about 5 months there was a fault with it because when i tried to view freeview or watch a DVD, the machine seemed to work for 5 - 20 minutes then it froze and i couldn't turn it over or anything as the remote didn't respond. I then had to turn it off at the mains.
I then got a replacement from argos and after 2 months the same thing happened with the replacement.
i have lost my receipt so i can't get a replacement so i was wondering if their is an known fault with this model as the same thing happening again to a replacement is more than just a coincidence and i would expect a new item to last a lot longer than this.
I am thinking of getting it fixed so it would be helpful to know if you think if it is worth getting it fixed.

I have the same model, it packed up litteraly just after the 12months were up! it had over heated. the repair guy blamed "poor quality components, and the lack of either fan or ventilation slots for the fault." cost me £35 to get it fixed not too chuffed but it was cheap to buy, so I guess you get what you pay for.

Cheers mate. Did your model have the same problem and since u got it fixed has it worked ok since.
