PHILIPS 170S4 Monitor

Hi,

I have reed on different links that this problem is very often encountered on this model.

With no signal cable connected to computer the display shows some Chinese letters ( maybe is "No SIGNAL"), Connecting the VGA cable the monitor shows "OSD and some Chinese letters.

I have check LVC14.

Please did somebody what should I check?

Hi,

Yes I have found the problem. It's about he eeprom it most be rewrite. I have rewrite and now it"s OK.

You don't need no service manual cause it's a software problem.

Now, I have a Fujitsu Siemens Monitor with the same problem.

All the internal components and modules are the same like in the Philips monitor, but the eeprom must be original from Fujitsu, unfortunately I don't have a identical monitor to copy the eeprom and I didn't get it from internet for free.

If you have some information from where I could get the bin file please let me know.
I alsow need the bin file for Philips150S4FB.

And I have another problem too,the butons are not working,maybe is from BIOS something,and if you could send me please the .bin file from the SMD eeprom wich is situated above the VGA connector?I think there are stored the
PLUG&PLAY informations,because my monitor is not detected from PC.

Hi there. I have the same problem that you had. My Philips 170S4 doesn't work. it just flotes around some asian letters when i turn it on. I have downoaded the eepron for it but how do i use it on the monitor? How does it work?

it's not taht simple

you need a programer for 24C08, 24c04 etc... eeproms.

The programer is connected with the PC.

The bin file is loadet with the programer software.
