Sad I have a Zenith projection tv(PVY4665RK) with 3 vertical lines in top
4 or 5 inches of screen, one for each color.
Could problem be in Velocity Scan Module or should I look elsewhere?
These lines are not straight but slant upward on the outer 14 inches and have separation from each other.

JD, you either have blown STK`s (convergence IC`s) or R3243 is
bad, you don`t give enough info to let us help you further, does audio
work? does OSD work? does menu come up with one of the crosshatch
lines missing? convergence board have blown fuses or blown resistors?
Help us help you by doing a little of the work or just call a tech who
can repair it for you, Larry E

Smile Sorry Larry E, I did not provide much info. after taking more detailed
look at TV, here are what is going on.
No sound, no menu. The bottom of screen look's just like top of screen.
They both droop in center . The top droop's downward, the bottom droop's upward in center.
In a standard TV (not a projection TV) it might look like a partially shorted yoke as I try to rembember.
I am 71 years old, but in my younger day's (30's) I was employed by
General Electric Factory Service as a electronic's tech.
After years of service(1Cool I could look at (GE) tv and know exactly
the problem.
But after (40) years I am almost lost on model's today.
I would be thankful if you would lead in in the right direction.

well R3243 the 110K Ohm or 120K Ohm resistor (both values have
been used by Zenith) should be replaced first but I think you have other
problems if the audio doesn`t work. The resistor is hard to locate, it
is under a green 3 watt resistor just behind the horizontal output transistors heatsink. Try replacing this resistor before going on with anything else and let me know your results, be advised that the resistor is a half watt, Larry E

:Thank's to both of you, I found two resisters damaged ,R4162,R4163 on module 9-1690. No fuses have been blown, the R3243 looks perfect but I will check it out. If I didn't say it before, there is also no video.
On screen image when it first powers up , look's like a bowtie. Then almost all disappears as damaged resisters are changing value.
Will let you know as progress proceeds.

JD, first of all, what is your name? you have to pull the resistor to check it,
the video can fail when that resistor has gone way up in value, it also
sometime gives you poor video but the cross in convergence will have
one line missing, also OSD sometimes doesn`t work. If you have
burnt resistors on the 9-1690 module then you better change the
convergence IC`s as well as they are more than likely bad, Larry E

Smile Larry, my name is James. I mistated my intention, I was going to change out the resister. Do you know a good source for the IC's , as large as Dallas, Texas is( 1.5 million) there is not one supplier that I can
purchase from, only limited item's.
I can obtain modules from tvparts.com, they are only about 45 min. from my home.
Thank's for your help.

James, you can order parts from tritronics, just enter their name on a google search and then log on as a guest, remember your going to have to unsolder the old IC`s and resolder in the new ones, if you don`t
know how to solder proficiently have a tech do it, Larry ps, replace
the resistor first before ordering the stk`s
