I got this tv from a friend and it has the following issues...

The borders of the picture seem to bow inward, and the red seems to not line up, it looks blurry toward the top corners..

We watched King Arthur and had to set picture to zoom 1 and it seemed to all but clear it up, but then Saving private ryan was almost unwatchable since the pic was blurry, and the colors especially red did not allign right..
looked like a 3d movie without the glasses on the right upper part of the screen and sometimes the whole right portion was just fuzzy...

My buddy said it cost him $400 to fix the last time then it just happened again 6 months later... I think he got screwed royally on the repair..

Is this just a matter of replacing the lamp? or are there greater issues at work here?

Thank you in advance for your help....

Chris

Or are there codes I can use to fix it, or a diagnostic, if so where do I get them? Smile

Typical rear projection tv. Replace the two STK392-020's and check the 3.9 ohm yolk return resistors. Also check the pico puses under the heat sinks of the convergence ic's. (STK392-020's)
