NEC Plasma Monitor PX-42VM2G

I have seen an NEC 42" PX-42VM2G plasma screen on eBay that is described as "Powers up to stand by, light goes red, then green, then red again but you need a remote to get anything else".

Does anyone have any experience of this screen, or similar NEC screens? Is this normal behavour for a screen with no input plugged into it, or, does it sound broken?
