A little more information would help. For example, do you hear a click when you press the power button? Is the standby light flashing and if so, how many times? You also might want to check out www.FreeFlatScreens.com/?r=10948674 for an opportunity to earn a free replacement for this set with a little effort on your part.

Hi Melw:

First, when the TV is Powered-Up there is a click.

And second, the Standby Light flick once.

Thanks Cool

Since the TV clicks, it indicates that the standby power supply is OK. Unfortunately, one blink is not used for the self diagnosis on the Sony. My only suggestion would be that it is possibly the horizontal output transistor that is bad.

HELLO, Well it's true that your standby supply is working, however you will most likely to have a bad power regulater in theses sets. The supporting caps around this device may also be somewhat dielectricaly absorbed and improper voltage may be on bias leg of regulator, Check the HV output trans like suggested this a common failure as well, Mostly a NTE-2353 will replace the device, It has internal damping so don't get a woody if the device does not measure correctly in circuit.
