Sony Trinitron kv-27fs100: remote/front panel buttons dead

I have a Sony Trinitron kv-27fs100. First the television stopped responding to the remote control, but the buttons on the front panel (volume/channel/etc.) still worked. Then the buttons on the panel stopped working. When plugged in, the television turns on to the state it was in before the problem occured. It's stuck on an aux video channel. The screen remains black with volume and channel displayed in the usual neon green. Then only way to turn the unit off is to unplug it. Cant change the channels, volume, etc. I'm hoping it's just the circuit board that handles the remote sensor and front panel buttons. Can anyone give me advice on this problem?
