Hi All,

What a fantastic site with a wealth of useful information!! Very Happy

I have been repairing and building computers for about 6 years now and I am looking to expand my knowledge and would like to learn skills in how to repair TFT/LCD monitors and even printers. I understand this is not always cost effective but I am really keen to get to grips with repairing other computer related electrical equipment. I have had a look around for some "How to guides" and books on amazon but nothing! Is there any advice for someone like me or shall I just go in armed with my screwdriver and learn by taking things apart Twisted Evil

Many thanks for your help

Kelly

while nothing will ever beat the "actual hands-on" experience, there is nothing wrong in gaining as much knowledge by reading as sky is the limit.

Only problem we all face is the classic "diminishing returns" where more and more manufacturer's of consumer products are going the throaway route ONLY due to cost.

I have several training books on monitors and TV's as well as service manuals for copiers and printers at my sites at manuals4you.com and
justmanuals.com
If you email me, I'll give you a list of what training manuals I have from the manufacturers.

Just a partial list of training materials I have.

Thank you both for your replies, I realise now I should have posted this in the office equipment section. Yes, I appreciate that the cost of these items are so cheap now that often it would be more cost effective to throw away and start again. I still feel that they would be valuable skills to learn. Thank you both for your help, an email on its way to you Paul! Smile
