The ISO connector on car radios has a separate dedicated pin for panel lights. In a car, this is connected to the dashboard lights so that the car radio's panel can be dimmed by the same control.
Usually, aftermarket radios will light up when just the main supply is connected, but OEM radios may rely on separate supply for the lights. |
