Hi,

If I want to adjust the horizontal centering in the service mode is that all I need to do? I don't have to adjust anything else afterward?

I'm a little confused because of a manuel that lists several steps such as amplitude, vertical centering, vertical slope etc. as well. It also talks about 90° and 100°, test patterns and such. I just want to adjust the horizontal centering, can I do that without worrying about all that other stuff?

Thanks a lot.

The manuals are usually written for the case that the set is totally out of adjustment, i.e. as they can be if the eeprom was corrupted or after changing the CRT. But when only a touch-up of a single adjustment is needed, then go ahead with this adjustment and skip the other steps. However, it is always a good idea to look at a test card to make sure that all other adjustments are ok.
Note that many TVs get some horizontal displacement of the picture when supplying a RGB signal, if the centering was adjusted with composite (and vice versa). If you are using both kinds of signal and there is only one horizontal centering adjustment in the menu, then you must make a compromise.
If the TV has seen some years service, it is recommended to readjust the screen (Vg2) voltage and CRT cut-off according to the manual, as those adjustments always drift due to ageing of the CRT.
