Mitsubishi CS-31303 Brightness

I have an issue with a Mitsubishi CS-31303 television, the brightness on the television is severely dark, anything that involves darkness or at night is too dark....the brights are alright. The biggest problem is I have is I have no remote for the TV, but I got a universal that can access the PIP Menu, not the Brightness/Tint/Contrast menu. If anyone for starters can give me the code to maybe start there, or a way to access the menu without the remote, I would sincerely appreciate it....if it needs to be fixed, then what would be the issue?

Remove the pip board and jump pins w/board flipped up 5 to 11 closest to you then 7 to 9.
