It's an older tv, and we are trying to fix the tv because we are college students and don't have a lot of money, what would the cost be and if we can fix it manually how can we do it....

We turn the TV on but we get no picture, we aren't sure if we get sound but we definetly don't get picture, but sometimes if we bang on the sides it will come on and it will work fine, anybody know how to fix the problem?
