Strange Behaviour

My tv has developed a fault where the volume keeps rising till it reaches maximum, but when i put headphones in socket it falls until it is muted. Also when menu is opened & am looking at sound or visiual settings the values keep going down as if i'm pressing left on the remote control. The picture on tv is perfect but cannot watch anything due to the way the menu acts & the volume going crazy. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

first think to do is very simple, on the back of the tv is a sticker, on it is the model no and manufacturer, posting this info will help narrow down the problem.

Remove the batteries from the remote, to exclude the possibility of stucj buttons on the remote.

If that doesn't help: Check front panel controls on the TV.
If that doesn't help either: Check voltages on the processor input pins where the signals from the buttons on the front panel ends. It may be a faulty processor line input.
