Have just replace Q330 with a PDTC124ET. Unit working fine.
I have more of these transistors available if anyone needs them.

Could any of the people who have successfully changed the transistor Q330 and jumper JW307 (or is it JW370?) please share with me the LOCATION of these parts, please?
I cannot find the appropriate service manula for diagrams and need some help in locating these items in the innards of my stereo!

Many thanks in advance.

If you remove the cover you will see a pcb on the right hand side with the surface mount components on the side facing you. If you take a picture and post it on here I will be able to locate the transistor for you.

will do, sidsparks, although model is actually cp101 and not cmt101 as originallythought. However, CP101 schematic also has q330 transistor, so I'll take a pic and post it anyway.
Could you also point out jumper that needs replacing with 470 ohm resistor, please?
Thanks

OK, here it is:

and

I've put notes on the first to identify what I think are the right components - that's how they're labelled on the circuit board.

Now all I need is the transistor and to learn how to remove and replace very small components from these circuit boards.

Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to do this?

Thanks so far.

Regards

Looks like you have identified the correct components. It looks like the same model that I replaced components in.
I'm sure there must be info already on web regarding replacing SM components.

Thanks, sidsparks. It's good to know when you get something right!

I'll research the de-soldering and re-soldering bit.

Should I replace the transistor AND put a 470ohm resistor in place of the jumper, or jst do one of them?

Thanks again.

Can I de-solder and replace with just a standard DIY soldering iron? it looks like the component is very small and there's lots of little solder points very close together!

Any advice?

Thanks

You can use a standard soldering iron but make sure it has a fine tip. you will also need some fine solder.
Have a look at this.

Use the same technique that is used for removing the 0603 resistor
