On startup the laptop beeps 2 short 1 long, pause and then 3 short beeps.
Google points to "video fails to intialize", i.e. videochip failure.
Is there a way to replace the chip? Anyone has any experience with this very common Tecra S1 problem? Thanks.

You would need to replace the motherboard on the laptop. Even if you could replace just the video chip, where are you going to get it?
