AIWA VX-FT21K

I have an AIWA VX-FT21K TV-VCR combi which is working fine except the colour has disappeared and I am left with a monochrome picture.
However, when I enter the MENU mode, all the on-screen text is in color.
I have fed a colour video signal from my camcorder into the front-panel VIDEO-IN AV socket and the screen still shown monochrome.
Can anyone suggest what is wrong and where I need to start looking?
I would like a schematic/circuit diagram.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
