Hope somebody can advise me on the following:

Although the sound is fine the picture on my tv seems to be contained in a narrow strip about half a centimetre wide in the middle of the screen. The rest of the screen is blank.

Can you help please?

Vertical IC crapped out. Check/replace the red 2.2uf caps and the 220uf/35 volts eletrolitic by the Vertical IC.

Did replacingthe caps resolve the problem?

My TV has started to do exactly waht you describe with and I quote:

"Although the sound is fine the picture on my tv seems to be contained in a narrow strip about half a centimetre wide in the middle of the screen. The rest of the screen is blank."

Are the caps easy to locate as I am not a service tech but a maint spark!

Thanks

Hi minnie
I have stripped the TV down and think I have located one of the caps you refer to.
Do you know if the 220uf/35v cap is C0308 on the main base board next to the heat sink labelled up as [VERT]?

I'm not sure where the 2.2uf red caps are. I have a jpg of the area I think it is, how do I attach an image to the msg?

Sorry to be pain! [img][/img]
