Pioneer CLD-A100

pulled this out of mothballs agains to try and fix it, it is one of the Pioneer laser disc players CLD-A100 laseractive, if doesn't read the disc, I can take off the top and watch it looks at the disc, it looks, shines red laser at it, doesn't see it, goes out further thinking it is a laserdisc, shines red laser at it, then gives up. Any help would be appreciated.
