|
|
I have a 2 year old Proview MA-782KC flat screen 17" monitor.
(Also known as Proview 700P)
That has developed a fault in that it does not switch on.
At first, it took a while to 'warm up'. But now does not light up or anything.
I've read somewhere about something called an 'invertor' or 'electrolitic caps'.
What should I try to help fix this Monitor? I've looked for a service manual, but couldnt find one. I've also sussed how to take apart, have had a look, but nothing looks burnt or split/damaged. |

Anyone have any idea's about this thing? I've stripped it down now and am surrounded by bits (not many!) LOL.
Tearing my hair out trying to work out what's worng and what's what. I've heard of an inverter board problem...? Any clues? |

I'm leaning to the fact that it could simply be an internal fuse blown.
On the power board is 2x DST 3.15A fuses, which are soldered directly to the board. Although neither look black or burnt out.
I've also looked over all 3 boards and cant see any real signs of anything bulging or scorched.
I still think this going to be something simple...? |

Cheers Minnie. Not quite sure what they are, but gather I need one...
I've contacting them stating the make and model and hopefully they'll be able to assist.
How certain are you that the inverter has gone from my problem description? |

After contacting that place, I've now recieved an email from then saying they would be as much help to me as a chocolate Teapot because they cannot supply Inverters to 'End-Users'. They only supply to manufacturers!
Anyways, after loads of digging and researching and burying myself in browser windows, I've manged to dig up that the Capacitors originally installed into these Monitor's are ment to be shot to bits -

I've removed the Inverter board (which I also found out is on the same board as the PSU ) and have noticed a few of these capacitors have slight bulges. Could this be the problem?
They are the ones marked in the picture below. Would it be a good guess that the picture below is correct?
I'm planning on replacing those ones for now to see if it cures it... Recommended? |

After a bit of 'learning' I'm now gonna attempt to 'test' the capacitors to see if they have had it!
Got my hands full with boards and components these days! LOL |
