|
|
I recently inherited an Acer TravelMate C210 from the a late uncle.
Unfortunately the not-so-old bastard has left a BIOS password on the computer and has another password on the administrator account with only a guest account available to me. I have researched and found that all the BIOS retrieving programs available need the administrator access. However because of the BIOS password I can not set the boot menu and thus cannot use a bootdisk.
I have found that the only possible way to reset the BIOS is to fiddle around with some switches on the motherboard. I am average with repairing laptops and although I can take them apart I pretty much have no idea what I am looking for when it comes to finding the right switch on the motherboard.
If anybody can help me by providing the service manual, or telling me how to do it it would be much appreciated. |

Ok these are some pictures of the motherboard. Some of it is covered because I haven't removed it from the computer I have only taken out the keyboard. If someone could indicate what I am looking for it would be awesome.

the battery is not visible in these pix. You're going to need the manual if you want to do it rite. Spend the money for it. |

I know it's quite awhile ago, but can you remember how you took out the keyboard from the travelmate c210 you were asking about ? - and were you successful in accessing it ? I'm trying to do that, and can't find my way in !
Best regards,
