Samsung D351 No Power

I recently had a problem with LCD display on my Samsung D351 camcorder.

I managed to find out from this forum that I could replace the LCD ribbon.

I bought one form partmaster, downloaded the service manaul and followed it closely.

When I reassembled the camcorder it worked (allowed me to eject the tape drive) but now it wont do anything.

I have tried a new battery but this made no differnece.

When I plug the extrenal power supply / charger nothing happens. The LED does not turn on but I can feel one of the chips on the PCB warming up.

Do I now have an expensive 'brick' with a Samsung logo on it or does anyone have any ideas on how to repair it?

Any advise will be much appreciated.
