Hello,
I am working with a Mitsubishi Mod CK-32308
32 inch TV. The set is not completely dead but it
won’t start up. When the power button is pressed
the front green led comes on (it doesn’t blink), and a relay (K901) clicks in for about 3 seconds then the led goes dead. If I press the power button again the cycle repeats. While the led is on there is a very faint buzz coming from a small transformer (T951). I’ve checked all fuses, connections, I checked the horizontal output and other transistors and all of them checked ok. The set uses an STRD4512 regulator. I went through and resoldered all connections throughout the board. The 9 volt standby voltage is present. There is voltage getting to the relay (K901) and the relay is passing that voltage on for the short time it stays on.
For the 3 seconds the relay and the led are on there is no sound or high voltage. Below is a pic showing an overall veiw of the main chassis.

Any help appreciated.
Thank you

Check D961 to see if it's biasing correctly.

Its shorted,
Its a 130V avalanche diode TVSSR2KL.
I missed it when checking the other diodes.
I'll see about replacing it and let you know how
it goes.

thanks

Is there anything else you would recomend replacing besides the shorted diode?

Something else, Before I checked D961
I also noticed that I am getting 300VDC on pin 3 of
th STRD4512 regulator or (IC951).
Is that the right voltage?

Thanks
