Epson Stylus Photo R360 printer

I've got an Epson Photo R360 printer and have always used compatible cartridges since they are a fraction of the cost of Epson ones. However, two or three months ago when I changed a couple of the colours, the printer display said it could not recognise them. I deleted the printer and uninstalled the software and lo and behold, it did then recognise them.

But today, when changing a cart, it again said it couldn't be recognised. I did the same thing, unstalling software etc. but it's failed to work this time. Is there some software/fix that could solve this?
