|
|
Hello
I have a Phillips 50in Projection TV:
model: 50P8341
chassis: PTV-915
The picture is very blurry and you can't make anything out.
If I adjust the color for the green and red tubes the image clears up ,but the blue tube stays blurry.
The coolant has been recently changed.
My questions is:
Is this problem with the HV splitter or STKs?
What are symptoms of a bad HV block?
What is the part number for this block?
Also sometimes the HV block behaviors erratically. (The green adjustments affect the red tube)
Thanks

Swap focus/screen leads on the block to see if it's the block. Swap green and blue. Who changed the fluid? When I do these I do both the green and blue. Red doesn't grow the algee. It looks like contaminated fluid to me. It's not convergence. |

Hi
I bought the TV from someone and they said the fluid was changed.
I took out some fluid out of the blue tube and it's crystal clear.
How exactly does contaminated fluid look like?
I will try swapping the screen/focus leads on the block.
As well as the green and blue.
Thank you |

When the fluid is dirty it looks like mountain dew. Instead of clear it's yellowish and brown hunks of crap floating around. |

Hello
The fluid actually has very slight tint of yellow.
I have ordered a 16oz of coolant.
The HV block doesn't have scew in leads.
Instead they go directly into the unit.
The number printed on it is 0321F690541
Thanks |

There should be 1 screw holding the block in. You should be able to scoot the rubber boot up and it should unplug? |

I stand corrected. I forget Phillips equals cheap. Stick with changing the fluid. Also wipe out the inside of the tube also. I use windex and paper towels, |

HI
I guess I will change the coolant.
Also there is no way into the lens of the CRT.
There is only one plug to drain/fill the tube. |

Hi again
I forgot to mention, there are small droplet of liquid in the CRT. There is no way to get to them.
Thanks |
