To avoid the burning up and oxidising of the tungsten filament in air.

Try to break the glass bulb of a 12V car lamp carefully.

Turn it on via a 12V supply, and it lasts about 1/2 second with a puff of smoke from the burning filament.

Adding to these points the main reason is,
The interior of the lamp having the support wire sub assembly must be sealed from the environment in vacuum-tight manner, cuz hermetically sealing the lamps at places where wires or like metal parts extend from interior of the lamp to the outside has always been a problem in the art
and so support wire sub assemblies for incandescent lamps are usually
kept entirely within vacuum tight...
