Ive done a Google search and found this site.
My Parents Zenith z52z95 has had convergence issues for the past 3 yrs. All 3 colors are off, the white is yellow , the red is blured to the right, and blue is dark and on a slight diagonal ( \ )
I took the back off yesterday and found the G2 and focus and was able to get it a little better. But everything still looks washed out. Colors change on their own after converg. has been done.

I read that there is a resistor fix (120k 1/2watt.) on the Crt board. Is there a how to, pics, or any info.....? I live 50 miles away from them and it would be nice to get an idea of what to do before I go back.

Could it also be the Converg. Amplifier needs replacing?

I had a few college classes on Electronics Repair, PLC's etc.., and worked repairing Cellphones for Verizon.

I am a ForumWhore so please email me w/ any info. I am going to bookmark this site too, to help my awful memory.

The 120k resister is for if the video is blurred. What you're describing sounds like a convergence ic issues. z52z95. I'm going strictly on memory. There should be 2 STK392-110's on a board. The bias resisters should be 1 ohm. 6 total resisters. The IC's need to be replaced and the resisters checked. To see if it's the 120k resisters, remove the screen and look into the tube with a picture on it. When the resisters on the crt boards go bad it smears the video. Also post the board # for the convergence board. If you take the back off it should be on either the board or back plastic. I'll see if I can cross it also.

Wow.
Ok is this something that i should have a repair shop do.

Im pretty good w/ repairs but I need a schematic or manual to go by.
My uncle repairs indust. LCD's for Electrical South. So i could pick his brain too.
The z52z95 may have a D at the end of the model no.

I went to my parents house again today. the picture is blurry but mainly the colors are all off. The white scale yellow, the red is blurred to the right the blue is on the diag. \

Its going to be a week or so until i can go back, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matthew

A picture is worth a thousand words. You may be fighting 2 separate problems. Neither of the two are hard to fix. Like I said, get me the # of the convergence board and I can either help you fix it or get a rebuilt one.

the manual stated that the remote has a converg. code inside the batt compartment, is that what you can use.

Im sorry its so far away and we are both blind here for a while.

These are the codes inside the TV remote. The manual said they were the convergence codes.
