So I have a Hitachi 50" Projection Model# 50UX58B. You plug it in and it works fine, pic is great and then after a few minutes.. the pic starts to flicker and shrink and go crazy... the tv then shuts off and won't turn back on unless you unplug it and wait.. then start all over again. There is a way to avoid this.. a very slight and light tap on the base of the tv but this is only temporary.

opening the back reveals that all LED lights do light up, however when the pic goes crazy and shuts off, all lights extinguish.

this leads me to believe that there is a breaker in the system which is being tripped by an unknown problem at this point. Maybe something loose or slightly burned out which would require cleaning? I do not have schematics for this tv.. but does anyone really? So I don't know where to go from here...

I have checked c707 and e994 as other forums have suggested.. not the problem.

Help!

Symptom: INTERMITTENTLY GOES OUT OF SYNC
Cause: DEFECTIVE IX01,XX02,XX03

Per Hitachi's web site.

Me personally, I'd say flex converter. #CS00185R

All video composite or component runs through the flex converter. The other suggestion was off of Hitachi's web site and I can't even find the other two parts. I would go with the flex converter.

It's a plug in board in a metal case. 4 prongs under the board that need to get unsoldered to remove the metal case.

Not that it helps anyone but... I just replaced the bigger of the 2 boards. Clear pic w/ no more problems.

Thanks for all the help!
