Hi, new here.

I usually manage by myself but seems to need help with this one.

The psu makes an unnerving hissing noise that changes with the picture.
The picture is of a generally bad quality, it may come and go, and retains a blurry shadow ghost of the image previously presented. The ghost image has inverted video/colors and slowly fades but remains for a long time. I noticed a board with "erase" printed on it somewhere, could that be related? I don't know all about plasma's driver needs. I noticed minnie mentioning a sustain board elsewhere, which ones of my boards would that be?
The psu voltages seems to be fairly ok with no particular ripple, and I was unable to find any caps with obvious high ESR.

PSU:
3S110034
PKG-1885
42NH-PDP-4

Vertical (?) driver:
GP2202613
NP42B2MF02
PKG42B2G1
01C

Another driver board (hot):
PKG42B2F1
FP2202498
01C

Horizontal (?) driver:
PKG42B2J2
JS227135
01A-V1.00

CPU (?) board:
PKG42B2C1
CK2303639
02A-16

Any information, experiences, or service manuals are welcome.
Thanks for your time.

Thanks for reply, sorry for my delay.
It was manufactured in 2002 and has seen a fair share of use every day.

Sounds like a bad panel. The sustain boards are the boards on the far left and right. Rule of thumb go after the biggest one first.

Thanks for your reply minnie.
I tested all caps on the PKG42B2F1 board (the one with 2 heatsinks PH2101 & PH2102) and found none with obvious high esr.
I don't know what else I'm looking for here, I haven't seen even a block diagram of a plasma. If it were a crt I'd be home free..
When you say panel, what are you referring to? The plasma screen itself with the bonded driver IC's, any circuit boards, or an assembly?
There are some trimmers on this board:
VP
VBW
ERASE
PRIMING
Anyone know what they are for?
Just trying to understand the functions of the boards.

Hi there,

I have Fujitsu PDS4234.

I also have the same problem of the blurry shadow ghost of the image previously presented. But I also have another problem when Im using the OSD Menu all looks fine, but when Im trying to connect S-VIDEO signal I can see the picture for a few seconds and then the TV get into shutdown state the RED light blink in the POWER LED.

I didnt opened it yet, but Im going to do it soon. I tried looking on the web for repair manuals and stuff... but the only thing I got was that there is a 'Scan Board' (PKG42B2F1) which can cause these problem.

No way Im going to pay 250$ for refurbished board from ebay.

I want to try fix it mayself, but I will need help... PLEASE HELP!!!

Haim

So you're saying that the Fujitsu uses the same scan board as the NEC?
Did the site you found mention anything specific about components?

I have also been considering if part of the image problem could be with the input converter board. I'll try different video sources and see what happens.
