need help fixing a thomson 21mh182 / itc008 tv set

I have a thomson tv set 21mh182 with chassis itc008
when using the peritel on a dvd player, I can get the sound, but there is no picture at all, not even on antenna, no menu can be displayed, screen totally blank, no sign of signal, not even static
I checked the heater voltage, I got 5volts ac
the +/- vsupply to the deflection part is +17/-13 so that looks ok
I can hear the degaussing on the tube when turning on

can I get any hints?

I have no scope on hand at the moment to check the video and deflection signals, only a digital meter, it's a bit difficult to look for the problem.
I will get a scope later maybe, but if I can get some hints, I'd be grateful

Some of the Thomson's chasis can be a challenge. Without a scope is even trickier. Should be easier though once familiar with the chasis. Atleast you can check for various supply readings.
