I have a Magnavox 20ms233s.
Heres what it does:
Powers on, while tuned to AV channel (which is what it was turned to before this started), shows 6 horizontal green lines for a few seconds and then shuts off. Won't turn on again until unplugged and plugged back in.
I thought maybe the CRT was overheating, so I opened it up and blew the dust out with a can of air, put it back together and it worked fine for the evening. I unplugged it overnight just in case something went wrong. The next morning it started doing it again. Any ideas?
-- I just turned it on and before it shut off, I changed it from the av channel to a regular channel and it went from 6 green lines to a blue-ish white horizontal line accross the middle. Then it shut off. It stays like this until I change it back to the av channel.

Try turning down the screen control on the flyback. |

I'll give it a try. Would the screen control account for it shutting off though? _________________ -Tommy

Picture tube ages, Phillips/Magnavox are notorious for this. Hope it holds! |
