MY REMOTE NO LONGER WORKS HITACHI 50DX01B TELEVISION. FRESH BATTERS AND REMOTE LIGHTS UP WHEN BUTTONS PUSHED BUT NO RESPONSE.....

Is the remote set to operate the TV? Sure it's not set to DVD or cable?

YES I'VE PRESSED THE TV BUTTON. I'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. ITS WORKING BUT THE TV DOESN'T RESPOND TO ANYTHING AT ALL.

Take your cell phone camera and see if the ir is lighting up.

I have a similar problem. My Kenwood AV receiver no longer responds to its remote control, which still emits IR signals (based on viewing the RC through a digital camera). Is there a part I can replace in the receiver? How do I locate the defective part? Is this something I can do? Thanks for any advice.
